100% Pure Tung Oil
Tung Oil has been used traditionally as a wood-working oil-- many wood floors and architectural work has been sealed with it, and it's still used frequently today. Great as a matte topcoat for interior and exterior projects, as it's known as 'nature's polyurethane.' To be used over porous surfaces, like raw wood, Chalk Paint® and Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.
It will always keep a matte look to a painted surface. Since it's a thicker oil naturally, we like to mix it with a little bit of mineral spirits to help it dry in a reasonable amount of time (roughly 1 part Tung Oil to a 1/4 or 1/2 part Mineral Spirits). Brush or wipe it on, making sure to wipe any excess oil from the surface. Apply a second or third coat as needed to build up durability, waiting until the previous coat has dried to the touch to apply the next.
Be advised that it may yellow lighter colors slightly. Not to be used over waxes.
