Annie Sloan Pearlescent Glaze
Welcoming NEW Pearlescent Glaze to go with your Chalk Paint® projects! Pearlescent Glaze is a water-based, light-reflecting decorative finish for interiors. Can be used on furniture, walls, floors— all painted and unpainted. Comes in a 250ml. tin, which covers approx. 65 SF each (will depend on surface absorbency and method of application).
Allow about 2 hours drying time between each coat of Pearlescent Glaze. Make sure to wash your brushes well once finished. It creates a very hard, durable finish similar to the Lacquer, especially when applied directly overtop of a painted surface. So it does not necessarily need to be sealed. However, for additional protection you can apply Chalk Paint® Lacquer (especially on floors) or Wax over top (especially for further patina effects).
These are our favorite ways to use it:
Applied over top of a surface painted in Chalk Paint® for a more intense opalescence (will be even more obvious over dark colors)
Mixed with very small amounts of Chalk Paint® to create gently shimmering, translucent shades.
Dry brushed over painted raised details to accent
Stenciled!
Creating a ‘bone-inlay’ look by stenciling or Detail-Brushing Old White over a dark color (Graphite, Athenian Black, Amsterdam Green, Oxford Navy, etc.) and then Detail-Brushing Pearlescent Glaze over top of the Old White areas.
There are so many more ways— let us know YOUR favorites!
