Weatherwood Stains Maintenance Oils (1/2 Pint)
*Ask to order in quart sizes!*
Weatherwood Maintenance Oils can add protection to your raw/ unstained wood as well as stained wood surfaces.
Clear Maintenance Oil enhances the charm of the finished or unfinished surface, giving it a slightly warmed, deepened, and nourished look and feel. It also:
Removes any ‘blued’ appearance in oak surfaces that have been stained with Weatherwood Stains (especially Reclamation) while keeping the dark saturation level of the stain.
Seals in the dark saturation of a Weatherwood Stain on flooring which then needs a topcoat of Poly for foot traffic wear.
Weatherwood White Maintenance Oil does a few wonderful things:
Holds the true coloring of light wood flooring over time.
Lightens the coloring of raw and WW Stained woods while still allowing the grain to show through.
'Bleaches' or white-washes stained woods when 2-3 coats are applied.
'Ceruses' woods with deep grain (like Oak).
If used alone without an additional topcoat, oils must be reapplied every 2 years, or when/if product fades. Moisturizes woods and allows them to breathe!
To Apply:
Mix thoroughly before using to disperse wax solids evenly throughout. Mix occasionally throughout use to prevent settling. Make sure any dust and dirt has been removed from the wood surface (on raw wood, give it a cleaning). Brush on a thin yet full coat with a natural bristle brush, or rag on with a lint-free cloth. Let sit for 3-7 minutes (or longer depending on desired depth), then wipe off excess oil with a lint-free cloth. Allow to fully cure before applying Weatherwood Stains Polyurethane over top. Allow to sit for the first 12 hours without any touching or disruption, then recoat as desired. Optimal hardness or cure time is achieved after 48 hours.
Can be used as a stand-alone topcoat with minimal traffic.
