Use: Pure Artisan™ Gloss Paint is easy-to-use, durable, and versatile. Pure Artisan™ Gloss Paint is highly-pigmented with exceptional surface adhesion. Pure Artisan™ Gloss Paint was designed for use on furniture, woodwork, cabinetry, and trim. Pure Artisan™ Gloss Paint’s state-of-the-art biobased formula provides excellent flow, leveling, hide, coverage, and a brilliant light reflecting gloss sheen. Coverage: Approx. 150 Sq.Ft (13.9 sq. metres) per 32oz (947ml) – *Stated coverage is approximated – coverage varies based on type of substrate, environment and surface prep.
Prep: Pure Artisan™ paint was developed to be easier to apply than traditional oil-based paints with minimal prep. Before getting started, review tip sheets or visit your local retailer for additional instructions. A test spot is recommended to help detect tannin/stain bleed-through or interference from the surface. If needed, prime with Clear Topcoat Sealer or a stain blocking primer. Not recommended over previously waxed surfaces. All wax finishes should be removed prior to painting. If using a cleaner agent, thinner or stripper to remove old paint or finish, be sure to allow ample off-gassing time for solvents. Surfaces should be free of cleaner residue, solvents, dust, dirt, and debris. Properly prepared surfaces should be dry before application.
Special Prep Considerations: Depending on the surface to be painted, some special considerations may need to be addressed prior to painting to achieve the best ultra-smooth glossy finish.
Recommended Application: With the lid firmly secured and closed, shake the container. Open container, then stir from the bottom up. Allow all bubbles to settle before application. Pure Artisan™ Gloss Paint can be applied using a brush, roller, or with a sprayer. Depending on the substrate, applicator, and surface prep, 2 – 4 coats may be required for full coverage. Allow each coat to fully dry before applying additional coats.
Brush: Use a quality paint brush designed for smooth applications to evenly apply Pure Artisan™ Gloss Paint. We recommend the Artisan Enhancement™ Flat or Micro Brush. Apply each coat as evenly and smoothly as possible to avoid excessive brushstrokes in the gloss finish.
Roller: Use a high density, low absorption foam roller or a short haired roller (10mm) designed for smooth applications. Apply even coats to avoid lap lines.
Sprayer: Test spray pressure, mist setting, dilution, and sheen before surface application. Recommended airless paint sprayer pressure 1500-2500 PSI; Tip 0.011 – 0.015 Orifice. Thinning is unnecessary, but if required to obtain desired application properties, a small amount of clean water may be added. Never add other paints or solvents.
Dry and Recoat Time: Dry times vary based on substrate, number of coats, humidity or cooler temperatures. Dry to the touch in approx. 30 minutes. Recommended recoat time approx. 60 minutes. Additional coats should only be applied after the recommended dry/recoating times have elapsed.
Cure Time: For optimal results, allow surfaces to cure up to 1-2 weeks before use. Cure times may be extended due to humidity or cooler temperatures.
Care/Cleanup: Surface Care – Clean with a dry or damp soft microfiber cloth. Avoid excessive exposure to moisture. Avoid cleaning with harsh, caustic, or abrasive cleaners. Clean up & Storage- Easy clean up with soap and water. Seal the container tightly. Do not freeze or expose to direct sunlight/extreme heat. RECYCLE CONTAINERS in accordance with local laws.
